Lovely hotel, bright clean spotless bedroom and bathroom.. pristine white fresh bedding, only 1 pillow each, but easily rectified by simply asking for a second. Love the fact, there was a double plug on both sides of the bed, something you don't get in most hotels and definitely not in Premier Inn or Travel Lodge.. and again fantastic there was as standard a fan in the room. The double waterfall shower was very powerful. The amenities tray, was well stocked and proper sized mugs not a cup that holds 2 mouthfuls. I seriously could not fault our stay here, so much so we have booked an extra night. All staff have been friendly and courteous.. Highly recommended 👌Best Breakfast in Millom bar none (we've tried everywhere) Absolutely look forward to our quarterly visits to Millom just for the Breakfast to set us up for the day on the Ale. 5*

We stopped in for dinner whilst staying just outside Millom. We had zero expectations and we were all impressed with the food. Nice portion sizes and flavours and quick service, next time we're in town we'd also spend some time in the sports bar area too. Nice place, recommend this highly if you're in Millom.

Great pub, great food, great staff! Don't be put off by the building, once inside Sue and Tracy are behind the bar with Dan the chef preparing lovely food and Tania bringing it to your table. Very good value as well. We were pleasantly surprised and once again relearned not to judge a book by its cover. Will happily use again.

Called in for lunch as was dog friendly while we were out walking from Haverigg. Had chef special sausage curry and carbonara, followed by sticky toffee pudding and a latte. Fodd was fantastic value for money and a great choice. Staff really friendly and welcoming. We will be back next time we return to the area

Had a meal with the family and we all ordered different items, from burger, pasta, fish n chips, n the the specials All the food was excellent, service was brilliant and there were no problems We all commented on the tastiness of the food and would certainly recommend it
After some initial struggles with our booked room, the staff were very helpful and immediately tended to our problems. The room was equipped with a small fan as well as a bar for hanging your jackets. The en-suite bathroom was very modern. The water pressure from the shower was pleasantly strong. The staff was very friendly.

Stayed here on a Friday night after a show at the theatre across the square. Greeted by very friendly staff and shown to a spotless room. Brand new and beautifully finished, with a gorgeous en-suite. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area. The outside of the building is rather deceiving, as it looks like it's just an old working mans club, but inside the pub itself is nicely furnished with good beer and good food. Easily accessible with ample parking this is a great place to stay in Millom. We only came in for a few drinks after a walk around Borwick rails . Quite a large pub with a few ales on the pumbs it also sells food with a varied menu the pubs itself is a stones throw away from the train station and the theatre

Stayed for a quick Saturday night in March as attending a 'do' in the Town. The location of the Bear is great, just on the main square. The staff were lovely and friendly and although the room was basic, it had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. For the money, it did the job perfectly.
